Lily is no ordinary chicken. She dreams of a life off the farm where she can put her grand plans into action.
Her wish is granted when pirates recruit her and her fellow chickens and whisk them away to the open seas. Soon, Lily has taken charge and becomes captain of an all-chicken crew. But when Lily faces a mutiny, will she change her ways, or be forced to squawk the plank?

I’m currently reading “Little Women.” I read a passage today where Marmee was trying to comfort Jo. And I absolutely loved it. She said: “My child, the troubles and temptations of your life are beginning and may be many, but you can overcome and outlive them all if you learn to feel the strength and tenderness of your Heavenly Father as you do that of your earthly one. The more you love and trust Him, the nearer you will feel to Him, and the less you will depend on human power and wisdom. His love and care never tire or change, can never be taken from you, but may become the source of lifelong peace, happiness, and strength. Believe this heartily, and go to God with all your little cares, and hopes, and sins, and sorrows, as freely and confidingly as you come to your mother.” Then it said that Jo, “led by her mother’s hand […] had drawn nearer to the Friend who welcomes every child with a love stronger than that of any father, tenderer than that of any mother.”
Thank you to everyone who's supporting local businesses like The Pirate's House in Savannah, Georgia. Everyone in the tourism and hospitality business is hurting right now. Stay safe and be well.
#pirateslifeforme #thepirateshouse #exploregeorgia Pirate's Plunder looks like a fun place to explore in Newport, Oregon. It's an antiques and collectibles mall in Aquarium Village. I love their sense of humor!
It's Teacher Appreciation Week! A local teacher found that a student had placed this in her yard. So sweet!
If you've never read the book THE VERY IMPATIENT CATERPILLAR by Ross Burach, do yourself a favor... read it! My kindergarteners love it. And I love reading it to them. It's such a fun book, and it has a main character that we can all relate to -- a little guy who's struggling with patience.
Okay, I can do this. I can patiently wait for quarantine to end. Oh, who am I kidding? Can't life just go back to normal now?! Craig Melvin choked up today as he talked about how much students and teachers are missing each other during quarantine. It was a sweet moment.

1. A student had just arrived for the day. She walked into the classroom and immediately announced, “Mrs. Hadsell, I have something REALLY important to tell you. I’m an alien. For real.” 2. A student’s birthday was today. She told me all about the exciting things that were (and will be) on her agenda for the day, including cake that she had earlier. I asked, “What kind of cake did you have?” She was quick to respond: “Round.” 3. Out of nowhere (in the middle of a lesson) I heard a girl shout, “Are you KIDDING me??” I looked up to see what was going on. She was looking at my wedding photo that’s on my desk next to the computer. Her rant continued, “You got married?? That’s GROSS!” She’s so disappointed in me. Ha, ha! I love kindergarten. Check out this cuteness! Adorable nautical pull-on denim shorts in sizes 6M to 14. You can find them at carters.com...
