Why pirates?
1. For the love of adventure 2. Doesn't everyone love pirates?? 3. Because I'm a California girl who loves the ocean and has always had a serious case of wanderlust (just like my parents) My earliest encounter with pirates was when I was a teenager. A treasure hunting expedition had discovered/recovered much of a treasure-laden Spanish vessel that was wrecked at the bottom of the ocean. The treasure hunters traveled the country selling trinkets, jewelry, and replicas of shipwrecked treasures. When the traveling pirate shoppe made a pit stop in my hometown of Lancaster, CA my family stopped by to check it out. I went home that day with a Spanish cupid "pirate toothpick" pendant. That's how cool my parents are. Thanks, Dad & Mom, for blazing the trail and for sparking my love of all things pirate! |
